What was meant to be a dramatic and high-octane entrance to a wedding by the bride and groom, turned into a disaster in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
The wedding organizers had planned to give the soon-to-be-married couple a memorable day, by introducing them to the stage in a super-dramatic fashion. The two were made to stand inside a decorated cage-like structure being lifted by a crane’s hook, which lifted them at least a few feet above the ground.
Just as it was being lowered to reach the stage platform, something went wrong and the cage broke-off from the hook, tilting sideway and falling straight to the ground.
The bride and groom, who were standing inside also fell down – and the whole incident was captured through the cellphones of their guests. Needless to say the visuals have now gone viral.
The event’s organizer – Saif Sohail Event and Wedding Planning Company later clarified that the bride and groom were uninjured and the wedding proceeded as usual, after a while.
Thank goodness this did not turn into a tragedy, because it certainly looked like quite a fall.
