It’s remix galore in Bollywood – still.
Although criticism remains rife with Bollywood’s constant willingness to recycle hit music from the past, that doesn’t mean filmmakers are stopping anytime soon.
Now, director Rohit Shetty has presented a remake of the 90’s sensual hit ‘Tip Tip Barsa Pani’ for his forthcoming venture, ‘Sooryavanshi.’
The original was filmed on Raveena Tandon and Akshay Kumar in the 1994 film ‘Mohra’, and was quite an iconic number, oozing tons of sex appeal and a legendary wet-saaree sequence.
In Sooryavanshi, the song has been recreated and filmed on Katrina Kaif, who has brought her own flavour into the mix.
Choreographed by Farah Khan, the new version also features Akshay Kumar – who’s the lead actor in this new Rohit Shetty venture.
The song features additional vocals from Tanishk Bagchi, apart from the sample of the original with the iconic voices of – Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan.

While the lack of originality and the willing to create something new for this generation is perplexing, the remixes continue to pour as they give an easy assurance of a ‘hit’ to the makers.
