Kangana Ranaut Speaks On The Success Of Thalaivi: ‘It Has Been Healing After All The Scrutiny’

Kangana Ranaut’s career and her professional life has been through quite a number of up’s and down’s in the recent past, marred by her controversies, that have often overshadowed the impact of her own films.

Often referred to as the ‘Queen of Bollywood’, the powerhouse actress is now celebrating that OTT success of her recently released mega-budget venture – Thalaivi, which has come after a prolonged head-to-head with trolls, and naysayers.

Kangana, who has often been discriminated against for her so-called right-wing opinions in politics and wordly matters, said that the success of Thalaivi has been a healing process for her after all the scrutiny she went through.

The superstar was recently quoted telling IANS:

“I do my own thing and I am in my own place. Most actresses are very popular for starring with popular heroes. That’s how actresses have always been. But I have my own light.”

She further added:

“I don’t borrow someone else’s light. So you know that is a good place to be in. Definitely, I am much more popular now than I have ever been. It is true that right now is the best time of my career. I won’t deny that.”

She also praised the performances of her co-stars in the film:

“To be honest Raja Arjun sir’s performance is my favourite performance in the film. He’s so good. He brought a lot of empathy and sensitivity to a negative character. So every actor was so good. Even Arvind Swamy sir brought a lot of emotional content and gripping narrative to the film.”

And finally, this is what she said about the success of the film, after enduring trolling from her naysayers:

“This has been so healing in terms of all the scrutiny that I went through and I go through for my very right-wing opinions and nationalistic approach to things.

She stated that even people who have a left-leaning approach and ideology, like my film and that is how art binds everyone together.

Thalaivi is successfully playing on Netflix right now and is set to be released on Amazon Prime on October 10th.
