We often find people telling those begging in public places that if they’re well-abled then they should not be out there on the streets asking for money, and should try to find some work instead.
Living by that example, an elderly woman was spotted on the streets of Pune – selling blue ball pens to passersby, to make a living for herself.
While old-age is considered an age of sitting back and relaxing, just watching your grandkids grow – some people just do not get that kind of privilege.
This elderly lady in question was spotted selling pens, and interestingly the box in which all her pens were placed had this written on it – “I don’t want to beg. Please buy Rs 10/- blue colour pens. Thank you. Bless you.’
Her name is Ratan and she has been selling pens on the streets of MG Road, Pune.
The heartwarming image was shared on Twitter by Rajya Sabha MP – Vijayasai Reddy V, and it instantly touched everyone’s hearts:
Ratan, an incredible senior citizen from Pune, has forgone begging on the streets by putting her efforts into selling colourful pens and is earning her wages with pride and hard work. Her dedication to an honest living should act as an inspiration to all of us. pic.twitter.com/x3gzq7VKmB
