10 Actresses Who Deserved Filmfare Award For Their Performances – But Didn’t Get It

Indian awards aren’t exactly the most transparent or the most righteous.

It is still impossible for us to figure, how some of these judgements are made and what exactly is their voting criteria, based on which nominations are selected and winners are announced.

Perhaps this unaccountability is why, some of the judgements made by our popular award shows are so absurd that they leave most of us cinemagoers scratching our heads.

In the same line, there have been some performances by female actresses in the past – which were so outstanding that they deserved all the national and international attention they could have possibly received in the respective years they came out in, and yet they were never really recognized.

For example in the year 2015 we had an exceptional performance from Kangana Ranaut in Tanu Weds Manu Returns, in which she displayed her superb method acting skills playing a Jaat athlete and yet the award was given to Deepika Padukone that year for Piku.

Similarly, if we go further down in memory lane – in the year 1997, the Filmfare award for Best Actress was given to Karishma Kapoor for Raja Hindustani when we had a once-in-a-lifetime performance by Seema Biswas in Bandit Queen.

Summing-up more such unforgivable instances, here is our latest video in which we list down 10 such deserving performances that were snubbed at our award shows.
