At the turn of the century, Gaddar was one of the most successful films in Hindi cinema.
The drama and action-packed entertainer, based on a fictional love story around the time of Indo-Pak partition, starred actor and politician Sunny Deol – in one of his most widely remembered roles.
Nearly 20 years since the film’s release, the actor will now be returning for a sequel and we’re instantly left wondering whether it might also feature the iconic ‘hand pump’, which his character famously ripped off the ground in an iconic scene.

A source close to the making of the film has shed some light on what to expect from this unexpected sequel to the box-office smasher, here is what they were quoted telling Mid-Day:
“The makers of Gadar have figured out the plot points and are working on a script. While Sunny and Ameesha Patel will be a part of the story, the director’s son Utkarsh, who essayed the role of their son Jeeta in the original, will play a pivotal part. The young actor had forayed into Bollywood in 2018 with Genius.”
The director of the film states that the plans for the sequel are at a very initial stage right now:
“Talks about a sequel are on, but I will officially confirm at the right time. At the moment, things are at a nascent stage.”
