Alia Bhatt’s much-talked about film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ has unleashed it’s first official teaser/trailer and it has left the internet divided.
While most are smitten by the visual beauty of the film, some people are also questioning it’s casting choice – particularly pertaining to the lead role.
The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed venture, which is said to be based on Mumbai’s infamous female gangster from yesteryears – Gangubai Kothewali, has made people wonder if Alia is too ‘innocent looking’ to play the titular role.
Some have suggested names like Priyanka Chopra, while others have contested the director’s decision to pick someone as young and as pretty-looking as Bhatt.

We don’t doubt Alia’s ability to pull off difficult characters, but is anybody else bored of SLB’s same-old, same-old way of turning everything into an extravagant, regal and neat-looking visual escape?
This looks way too polished to seem like a biopic of a character like Gangubai, who operated the city’s infamous red-light areas.
