Ranvir Shoray has picked a side in the distressing violence that took place in the nation’s capital today.
On the occasion of the country’s Republic Day, just after the celebrations wound-up at Rajpath, farmer’s marched on the the city’s outer ringer rode – soon after which news broke about out a violent clash between the protesting farmers and the policemen.
Several people were injured as stones were allegedly thrown and barricades were broken, following which the marching protesters were seen heading to the Red Fort, only to hoist their flag right beside the flag of India.
This was called by many as a disrespect to the Indian national flag, particularly on the occasion of the country’s Republic Day and now several Bollywood celebs are reacting to it too.
Actor Ranvir Shoray has called out the violence in the protests today, stating that the farmers are not above the nation.
Here is what he was quoted as saying on Twitter:
“Wtf is this?! That too on Republic Day! Farmers are not above the nation! #shame #FarmersProstests.”

That wasn’t all. Ranvir continued to elaborate more on his stance on the issue, by calling out the ‘disrespect’, in a series of Tweets:
1)
Utter #shame! #FarmersProtests https://t.co/SRC8Stzi3G

2)
So now when you have nothing else left to say, you attack me personally. This, in fact is the nature of your entire dissent and protests. It is nothing but a personal attack on the Modi govt., driven purely by the need to dislodge, or even embarrass this govt. Go suck a lemon. https://t.co/n4pczs9bhJ

I would rather sit comfortably in my AC room then go around rioting and vandalising the capital on Republic Day over laws legislated by an elected govt. And if you don’t want tear gas, stick to the routes the police has designated for protests. Thanks. https://t.co/Ty57fcwKKx

4)
Farmers have only the right to protest peacefully, not vandalising and violence. This elected govt. has the right to legislate reform. #FarmersProstests #shame https://t.co/SFSVa5ASME
— Kalpesh Patel (@RanvirShorey) January 26, 2021
5)
What’s more tragic is none of the political leaders supporting these protests are condemning this violence. In their desperation to embarrass this govt. they are willing to burn the country to the ground. #shame #FarmersProstests https://t.co/4RTxqOsyq4

No matter what your stance, this is a sight no nation wants to see on a day like this.
