MHRC Summons BMC Commissioner in Kangana Ranaut Office Demolition Case

The demolition of Kangana Ranaut’s office property in Mumbai by the hands of BMC officials was one of the most controversial incidents of 2020.

The actress’ 50-crore property in Mumbai was partly demolished in September, when she engaged in a war of words with Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Twitter, just moments after which the BMC appeared in front of her office with bulldozers, citing an illegal construction.

The Maharashtra Human Rights Commission (MHRC) has now spoken on the matter and has summoned Iqbal Chahal – the commissioner of BMC in the matter.

The summon comes days after the Bombay High Court had also called out the authorities of BMC, citing the destruction of the actress’ property as ‘malicious’.

The BMC commissioner is now required to appear before the MHRC at 11 AM on January 20, 2021

Another major win for Kangana, after the court’s recent statements.
