Sonu Nigam Says His Son Now Lives In Dubai, As He Doesn’t Want Him To Be a Singer in India

Sonu Nigam is one of the most sought after names in the world of playback singing in Hindi film music, having sung an astounding number of songs in his career – earning himself the spot of one of the most widely recognized and celebrated artists of his time – but he still feels some kind of way about being an artist in India.

The ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ singer was recently interviewed with Times Now and was asked about the aspirations of his son, Nevaan Nigam – who has also been previously heard doing an adorable cover of singer and actor Dhanush, with the latter’s viral track ‘Why This Kolaveri Di’.

Sonu stated that even though his son is born a singer, but his aspirations lie elsewhere and even if they didn’t, he would particularly not want to him to pursue a singing career in India.

Here’s what he was quoted telling by Times Now News when quizzed on the subject:

“Frankly, I don’t want him to be a singer, at least not in this country. Anyway, he does not live in India anymore, he lives in Dubai. I have already got him out of India. He is a born singer but he has another interest in life.”

He further stated:

“As of now, he is one of the topmost gamers of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He is number 2 in Fortnite. There is a game called Fortnite and he is the top gamers in the Emirates.”

Sonu’s statement comes months after he engaged in a war of words with some music industry big shots, including the the names behind T-Series.

The singer had expressed his disappointment over a number of issues that allegedly infest the music industry, ranging from nepotism to misuse of power.

Apparently he doesn’t want his son to be driven into it now.
