“This brought tears to my eyes…my heart is healed,” Says Kangana Ranaut After Court Scolds BMC

The Bombay High Court has sought to fast-track hearings pertaining to actress Kangana Ranaut’s petition, in relation to the demolition of her Mumbai property by BMC.

The court has asked the civic body to be ready for hearings from Friday, stating that a party open and damaged property cannot be left as is, in Mumbai’s harsh rains and the suit has to proceed with immediate effect.

The court has asked Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut to file his response in the matter.

“We cannot leave the partly demolished house the way it is. We will start hearing the petitioner tomorrow, you need more time here but otherwise, you are very fast” – the court took a jibe at BMC, referring to how fast they acted when it came to demolishing Kangana’s house in a controversial incident a few weeks ago.

Kangana has alleged that BMC’s action was driven by personal vendetta against her, after she made comments against the leading party – Shiv Sena and it’s leaders.

The court further added:

“Since monsoon has started and the bungalow is partly demolished, hearing cannot be delayed any further so we will allow the petitioner’s advocate to begin arguments tomorrow”

Upon hearing the court’s initial remarks, an emotional Kangana Ranaut took to her Twitter handle to express her gratitude and thank the court for it.

“Honourable Justice HC, this brought tears to my eyes,” Kangana stated. “..in the lashing rains of Mumbai my house is indeed falling apart, you thought about my broken house with so much compassion and concern means a lot to me,my heart is healed thank you for giving me back all that I had lost”

Kangana has sought Rs 2 crores in damages from the civic body, for what she deemed an unfair demolition of her office.
