Report: Sonu Sood Receives UNDP’s Special Humanitarian Action Award

Actor Sonu Sood has transformed himself into a messiah of sorts for poor and needy people, during this coronavirus-induced lockdown.

The actor and humanitarian has been applauded for his countless deeds, where-in he has responded to those who have reached out to him, and has assisted them financially and logistically.

Recognising his countless efforts, brought to light – especially during the past couple of months, the 47 year old has been awarded the prestigious SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award by UNDP (United Nations Development Programme).



Although there are number of instances of him reaching out to individual concerns of people, his work during the lockdown has been of special significance.

The actor garnered national recognition and acclaim for transporting thousands of migrant workers, who were stuck due to the coronavirus-induced lockdown and the were forced to walks thousands of miles on their feet.



He arranged for trains and buses for such desperate voices and came-in with a practical resolution, when the whole nation was feeling helpless about it.
