While the Hindi film music industry seems to have taken a drastic turn towards unnecessary remakes and electronically produced melodies and vocals, there are some incredibly talented vocalists in today’s music scene that continue to make use of their instrument, in the midst of it all.
But time has witnessed a long string of unforgettable talents in the world of Hindi music, that have etched their names and legacies for hundreds of years to come. The likes of Manna Dey and S.D. Burman, have not only paved the way for the ones who came after them, but have also curated an institution of contemporary Hindi music, that is worshipped and adored by many.
There are also pioneers like Mohammad Rafi, Kishore Kumar and Mukesh – whose vocal versatility has helped them curate some of the most unforgettable and iconic tunes in the soundtrack of our lives.
Among those, still actively singing and performing – Sonu Nigam and Udit Narayan, have smoothly lasted through different era’s of music, and still seem to be at the top of their talent and vocal finesse.
