Bollywood’s very own king of 80’s disco music – Bappi Lahiri is going international.
The renowned composer and music director who has curated 1000’s of songs in several languages, will now be seen collaborating with the likes of Lady Gaga and Akon.
You heard that right.
The legendary musician will collaborating with the ‘Born This Way’ hitmaker for not one, but two new songs.
Here is what Bappi was quoted as telling to Mumbai Mirror:
“Yes, two duets, with her singing in English and me in Hindi in my inimitable style. We are now waiting for the release to be greenlit, hopefully by the year-end. I also collaborated with Akon two months ago. That song should also be out soon.”
There’s no doubt Bappi Lahiri has been responsible for creating some of the catchiest dance-numbers of all time, that still hold the power to burn off the dance floor.
Let’s hope this comes to fruition because a Gaga-Lahiri collaboration would certainly be off the chain!
