Sachin Tendulkar Gets a Shave From Sisters Who Dressed-Up As Boys to Run Their Salon

Sachin Tendulkar rendered a heart-warming, inspiring gesture when he visited a barber shop that was recently in news for being run by two sisters in Uttar Pradesh, who had to dress-up and pretend to be boys to look after their father’s business.

The legendary cricketer shared a picture of the symbolic gesture on May 3, in which he could be seen getting a shave from one of the sisters in the same barber shop.

Here is how he expressed himself in the caption of the picture:

“A First for me! You may not know this, but I have never gotten a shave from someone else before. That record has been shattered today. Such an honour to meet the #BarbershopGirls and present them the @gilletteindia Scholarship.”

It was back in 2014, when 18-year-old Jyoti Kumari and 16-year-old Neha had to look after their father’s business after he fell ill and couldn’t take care of things on his own. The sisters then dressed up as boys for around 4 years to run the largely male-dominated business on their own.
