In an era of movies which can be defined by the audiences’ thirst for content-driven cinema, where star-value and big names rarely matter, the often-overlooked talents are finally getting their dues.
There’s an applaudable trend among Indian audiences of giving recognition to those who have managed to strike a resounding chord with their believable, close-to-life, on-screen portrayals and there’s less dearth of opportunity for such talents now, than there was some 10 years ago.
One such name is Pankaj Tripathi. The actor who, with his many “supporting” roles in critically acclaimed movies, has managed to create a niche for himself among moviegoers.
After his many career highlights in the recent past, the ‘Mirzapur’ star has now managed to bag his first Hollywood venture, opposite none other than ‘Thor’ actor, Chris Hemsworth.
The 42 year old actor, who’s mostly known for his performances in ‘Sacred Games’, ‘Newton’, ‘Bareily Ki Barfi’ – to name a few, will be starring in an upcoming Netflix project entitled ‘Dhaka’, which also features the likes of Randeep Hooda and Manoj Bajpayee.
The shooting for Pankaj’s part commences in Bangkok, Thailand and the two actors (Tripathi and Hemsworth) will also get to share screen space in this Netflix original thriller.
