Priyanka Chopra And Farhan Akhtar Wear Masks While Shooting In “Polluted Delhi”

Bollywood stars – Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar, who recently made a trip to the national capital, were faced with a struggle all Delhiites have now become much too familiar with — the disturbingly high level of air pollution.

The duo visited the capital to shoot an upcoming project which is interestingly titled, ‘The Sky Is Pink In Delhi’ (serves as a good metaphor to the situation!).

Attempting to make their way through the strenuous schedule in the ‘highly-polluted’ air of Delhi, the two shared a ‘behind the scenes’ shot from the sets – in which they were spotted wearing ‘pollution-filtering masks’, very well portraying the struggles of those living in the capital.

‘Masking our emotions in the Delhi air,’ Farhan Akhtar wrote as a caption to an image, which yet again serves as painful reminder of the alarming challenge being faced by the city’s inhabitants.

It is no hidden secret that Delhi has been breathing-in toxic air which continues to get worsen with an ever-increasing rate of pollution.

Although the air-quality in the capital-city remains pathetic throughout the year, it only gets worse around the time of Diwali and the advent of winters.

While this year, Supreme Court did attempt to bar bursting of crackers by banning “non-eco-friendly” cracker-shops around the city, a significant portion of Dilliwallas still managed to get their hands on them, pushing the air quality to further soar somewhere between ‘extremely poor’ to ‘severe.’
