This is What Veteran Singer Usha Uthup Has to Say About the #MeToo Movement…

Bollywood is joining all forces to bring out those sexual predators who have remained in hiding for countless years, who have sexually imposed themselves on aspirants and fellow colleagues, misusing their power and position.

The #MeToo – movement is bringing out past stories through the voices of those who have been at the receiving end of such predatory behavior over the years – a movement, which has perhaps been started in India, by actress Tanushree Dutta.

While a number of A-list celebs have supported the movement, encouraging such voices to be given a platform – there are also those who have their own apprehensions about the same.

Veteran Bollywood singer Usha Uthup is one of them. The seasoned songstress was quoted telling IANS that the entire movement has been ‘blown out of proportion’ and she ‘feels sorry’ about it. Here is what she said:

“I am quite sad about the whole thing being blown out of proportion. Am equally sad on how it has been worked out. I never thought they could do something of this kind to make it that big… I feel sorry. It should not have happened like this. So many people involved and hurt in so many ways.”

Hrithik Roshan’s ex-wife, Sussane Khan was also quoted telling the following to IANS:

“I honestly don’t want to comment on this issue much but I definitely feel that there is lot of pretence, false allegations and sort of crazy behaviour. They are using the platform badly and it’s not a good thing. If they use platform correctly then, it’s supposed to be good thing. They shouldn’t make allegation on an individual without any legal evidence.”

Notably, Hrithik himself has chosen to not work with director Vikas Behl in his upcoming flick, Super 30, who has been accused of sexual misconduct by a number of actresses, including Hrithik’s alleged estranged-lover, Kangana Ranaut.
