Tanushree Dutta may have been slapped with a legal notice by Nana Patekar, but she is not backing down from her stance.
The former actress and model, who has accused Patekar of sexually assaulting her nearly 10 years ago – has opened the possibilities of other such possible causes of sexual and workplace harassment from the past, to come to light.
But it all comes at a price.
Tanushree has seen herself being accused of attempting to defame Nana for ‘publicity’, as many of his ardent followers have been questioning her integrity due to the amount of time she has taken to open up about the issue. There are also those who have been suggesting that it might be a trick to make her way to the ‘Bigg Boss’ house – which provides visibility to most controversy-creators on Indian television.
But all that does not diminish Tanushree’s will to bring the truth to light and the reason she has come back, after all these years, to see that her alleged perpetrator is prosecuted.
Speaking on the above mentioned rebuttal being brought-up by a number of trolls online, here is what Tanushree was quoted telling during her interview with Republic TV:
“This is a way to discredit me that I am doing this for Bigg Boss. What, you think is a great aspiration? I don’t think that. You think Salman Khan is god and Bigg Boss is heaven, I don’t think that… They have been after me for 10-12 years… They have offered me crores… I have been saying no… If I had to get inside Bigg Boss, I would have done it years ago…”
She further spoke about the anguish she feels and insists that Nana won’t be able to face her now:
“That man creeps me out. I don’t know, this is a possibility that I did not consider but I will blast the sh*t out of him because he knows he is wrong. He can hide and attack me but in front of me he cannot do anything.”
As a number of Bollywood celebs have spoken out in support of the actress, it won’t be long before we find what becomes of the case and if her alleged perpetrators will ever be put to justice.
