Saif on #MeToo: ‘People Don’t Have Guts to Misbehave With My Family’

Saif Ali Khan had previously extended his support for the MeToo movement, remembering how he too – was once at the verge of being harassed by someone, when he was new into the industry.

The actor has yet again spoken on the very subject, and has firmly asserted how his family has been mostly ‘protected’ from such cases – as nobody really has the guts to harass them.

The actor was quoted telling the following to IANS:

“It is a very unequal society. I don’t think anyone will misbehave with my people… I don’t know why I feel like this, but be it my mother or sister or wife, I feel people will not have the guts to do that with them. It might be because they have certain protection around them. So, we have to protect the ladies who don’t have that protection around them or that aura that protects them. We have to make the place safe for the vulnerable ladies.”

Saif, who’s now preparing his 25 year old daughter, Sara Ali Khan from ex-wife Amrita Singh, for the world of showbiz feels comparatively secure about the female members of his family, because of their position and the level of protection around them.

He does however insist that an atmosphere where women feel safe enough to come forward with their stories or complain about any wrong doings, has to be created by everyone.

“I hope the #MeToo movement stays in future and does not die down because it will create a comfortable atmosphere for everyone.” – he said.
