Old Video of Tanushree Dutta’s Car Being Attacked in 2008 Goes Viral

Tanushree Dutta may have become the first courageous voice to start the #metoo campaign in India, but her allegations are being met by skepticism and denial by some devout fans of Nana Patekar, whom the actress has accused of sexual harassment for an incident which took place nearly 10 years ago.

But the story did not sprout out of nowhere just now. The actress and former model had also called-out Patekar back in the year 2008, during the shooting of the movie, ‘Horn Ok Please’ – right after the alleged incident had taken place.

According to Tanushree’s recollection of events from that time, she was forced into stepping back at that point following several threats and forms of intimidation – which also involved her car being thrashed by a group of people, said to be the supporters of Nana Patekar.

While a number of online trolls were questioning the authenticity of her account, questioning her character and calling her derogatory names – an old footage from the very time Tanushree’s car was attacked by a group of people has resurfaced on internet and is now going viral across social media.

Tanushree, who is seen inside the vehicle along with her family, remains firm, as a group of men vandalize her car, break glasses and cause other forms of violent damage.

The video has yet again made more people come out in support of Dutta, who are asking for the group of men, caught in the footage, to be taken into custody for interrogation.

Nana Patekar, on the other hand, has completely denied the allegations and has also filed a legal notice accusing Tanushree of ‘false charges’ and seeking an apology.

Whatever the series of actual events turn out to be as the law takes it course, it would be great if people stop resorting to victim-shaming and patiently give their ears to more victims of possible sexual abuse and harassment.
