Actor Puneeth Rajkumar’s untimely death was certainly a shocking less.
The renowned star of Kannada cinema, Puneeth passed away due to a massive heart attack at the age of only 46, earlier this week.
On Sunday, the actor was given state honors, in acknowledgement of his work in cinema and the many social causes he was associated with.
Wrapped in the tricolour, his last rites were performed at Sree Kanteerava Studios in Bengaluru in presence some prominent political and south-cinema figures.
Fans, who watched him for the last time, were seen emotionally saying goodbye the beloved star of films like Appu, Yuvarathna and Power.

The last rites for Puneeth had to be postponed for a few days, as family was awaiting the arrival of the actor’s daughter, who was returning from the Unites States upon hearing the news. According to ANI, “Daughter of actor Puneeth Rajkumar reached Delhi (from US) & arrived in Bengaluru on Saturday. His last rites were then performed at Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru”.
