Soon after Zaira Wasim announced her decision to quit Bollywood and the profession of acting altogether, opinions from all quarters of the country poured in.
The ‘Dangal’ actress, who was witnessing a blossoming career ahead of her, announced that she’d no longer be working as a professional actress after realizing her spiritual and religious goals, stating the profession was barring her from pursuing the same.
Yes! Zaira felt that she had deviated from the path of religion by becoming an actress.
The opinion, hasn’t gone down well with a lot of folks – including a number of her industry peers, one of whom is actress, Raveena Tandon.
Tandon, who’s known to be a very outspoken personality on social media, called Wasim out for being ‘ungrateful’ to the industry, while also terming her views and reasons ‘regressive’.
Here’s what the actress had to say:
“Doesn’t matter if two film olds are ungrateful to the industry that have given them all. Just wish they’d exit gracefully and keep their regressive views to themselves .”
She further added:
I standby and love my industry, all the opportunities it gives to everyone. Exit is your choice, reason,by all means.Just do not demean it for everyone else. The industry where all work shoulder to shoulder,no differences, caste, religion or where you come from. #Respect #indianfilms https://t.co/hRJKTfI9J8
