Often accused of nepotism, Karan Johar is trying his best to ward off the image of a prejudiced filmmaker and producer that has loomed over him for some time.
The 45 year old director and producer, who recently became a parent through a surrogate mother, insists that he isn’t necessarily willing his twins to grow up as aspiring filmmakers.
Although both Yash and Roohi Johar are barely a year old as of now, Karan is clear that he wants to keep them away from his film shootings and film sets.
“I am not a big fan of taking my children to a place of work…They should enjoy. I don’t want them to grow up on a film set. I don’t want them to grow up with that you have to be a part of a film industry only,” Karan Johar said in an interview on Friday. “Let them make their own decisions in life. I will not force an atmosphere on them.”

Karan became the center of the ‘nepotism’ debate, after Kangana Ranaut alleged him of being the “flag-bearer of nepotism” on his own show this past year.
The celebrated filmmaker has since been seen justifying his stance on various occasions, with a number of other B-town big-shots standing in his support.
