Thugs Of Hinostan is certainly the most anticipated flick of not just 2018 – but also the past couple of years. The movie has been in talks and tabloids since even before it hit the production floor, because of the grand scale it is being created on.
Now that the first posters and looks are being revealed ahead of it’s year-end release, it is bound to generate major buzz and debate.
After the first two posters of the flick, revealing the looks and characters played by the movie’s two main protagonists – Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, were made public – Twitter couldn’t help but notice the striking similarities with Hollywood’s iconic action-adventure series – “Pirates Of The Caribbean” – in terms of their overall theme and feel.
So was the Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom starrer an inspiration to Aamir Khan’s highly-anticipated magnum opus – especially when you talk about the overall characterization and ensembles?
This is what Twitter had to say immediately after the release of the posters:
A child can see similarity between Aamir Khan’s character in #ThugsOfHindostan and Jack Sparrow. Excitement gone kaboom. Another copy or as they say ‘inspired’.

Some of these ‘similarities’ certainly do make you cringe!
Is Thugs Of Hindostan an “inspired” version of POTC or will it offer something new, fresh and most importantly, original?
