It was a bittersweet celebration at RK Studios, as the Kapoor family and their close-ones gathered to celebrate Ganesh Utsav at the iconic building, one last time.
It was earlier this year when the family made the tough call to sell off the iconic site, following a massive fire that broke into the studio last September – burning a major part of it.
The studio which stands at a two acre area was built in the early 1950’s and has an iconic part of the Kapoor family’s legacy for nearly 70 years.
Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi was one of the many traditions that had been going on in the studio every single year, which made the occasion of celebrating it one last time – before handing it over to someone else, all the more emotional.
“This was indeed the last Ganesh Utsav for RK Studios,” Randhir Kapoor was quoted saying.
Not only a 70 year old part of the family and the movie industry’s history but also an iconic stature that was dedicated to the legendary, Raj Kapoor. It would certainly be hard to let go off something like this.
