Jahnvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar’s ‘Dhadak’ has been the talk of the town every since it hit the production floor.
Directed by the movie is a Hindi remake of the critically acclaimed 2016-release Marathi-language romantic drama, ‘Sairat.’
As much as people were excited about the big-screen debut of the eldest daughter of the late Sridevi, shortly after the latter’s untimely demise earlier this year, a number of people were also skeptical about the ‘mainstream’ treatment given to one of the most beloved romantic flicks to have come out of Marathi cinema, in recent years.
As expected, ‘Dhadak’ holds mildly in comparison to ‘Sairat’ – as far as the critical reception of the movie is concerned, but the movie was still able to grab the attention of the viewers, getting an impressive weekend opening of 33.67 crores.
But evidently, Twitter was not impressed with it at all.
From the undeniable example of ‘nepotism’, to the shinier, glossy makeover given to a realistic screenplay – people only threw sharp jibes at the Karan Johar produced flick and result was some hilarious memes and reactions.

Karan Johar tried to remake a hit marathi movie and failed big time. That’s what happens when you cast actors with no talent. #Dhadak #DhadakMovieReview #DhadakReview pic.twitter.com/1FCeJGdXFt— Nikhil S (@frankylampy) July 20, 2018
