Sridevi’s untimely death this past week, has opened our eyes to the enormous impact Bollywood celebs have in the lives of ordinary folks from all walks of life.
The much-loved star and actress, who dedicated 50 years of her life to entertaining us, passed away at the age of 54 while attending a family function in Dubai. And although, it still seems quite surreal to think she’s no longer with us, her fans have showed-up and showed-out to pay homage to the late icon in different sorts of ways.
One such tribute has come from the local trains of Mumbai, where a street musician named Prakash has gone viral with his beautiful musical tribute to the ‘Hawaa Hawaii’ enchantress.
Prakash was spotted in the Mumbai local by comedian Varun Grover, who posted a video of him performing a ‘Sarangi’ tribute – in which he could be heard churning out some of the most iconic tunes performed by the actress.
In a Jam-packed Boravali-bound train, Prakash started playing his Sarangi – but it took a few moments for people around him to realize that it was actually a medley of Sridevi songs – which he was playing as a homage to the star.

Listen to him play songs like ‘Tere Mere Hothon Pe’ from 1989’s Chandani and ‘Tu Na Ja Mere Baadshah’, among others:
So last night in the crowded Borivali local, Prakash with his hand-made Sarangi started playing ‘Tere mere honthon par’. Soon many of us in the bogey realised he’s giving a medley-tribute to #Sridevi. Goosebumps followed. pic.twitter.com/qJr2HTgaWF— वरुण (@varungrover) March 1, 2018
Goes on to show that Sridevi will continue to live through the lasting impact she has had in the hearts and lives of people.
Beautiful tribute indeed.
