As they say one may leave their motherland, but their motherland never really leaves them.
Such was an outpouring showcase of love for India when over 1.5 Lakh NRI’s stepped out to march on the streets of New York in order to celebrate the country’s 72nd Independence day.
It was the 38th ‘India Day Parade’ in NYC organized on 19th of August, a few days after India celebrated the anniversary of it’s freedom.

The massive gathering was led by movie star – Kamal Hassan and daughter Shruti Hassan, who strolled down the Madison Avenue with Indian flags waves all around them.
As kites were flying across the India’s skies and patriotic songs were being placed on news channels only a few days ago, the American-Indian also left no stones unturned in celebrating the beauty in diversity. As could be seen in a march so colorful it almost seemed like carnival.
