After 20 years of the actual incident, Salman Khan was finally convicted of killing a rare black buck by the Jodhpur court today.
The ‘Dabbang’ actor, who was involved in a case of poaching – back in the year 1998 was sentenced for a 5-year term in Jodhpur jail, after pleading innocent for nearly 2 decades.
While announcing his sentence and conviction, the judge said: “The way the accused killed two innocent black bucks in violation of the wildlife laws…he is a film star, people emulate him… there has been a rise in poaching incidents, so leniency is not justified.”
As Twitter erupted with an overwhelming response, filled with mixed reactions on the verdict, several of the star’s industry colleagues and friends came out to show solidarity with him.
From Rani Mukerji to Subhash Ghai, people not only sent out their ‘prayers’, but also bashed the judiciary for delivering the verdict against him.

How many tigers have been poached and what’s the status of Justice on that.
How many jungles have been cut down in the name of development, isn’t it leading to wildlife killing.
Punishing a good human being is not acceptable https://t.co/dBtc3tuM34— Shilpa Shinde (@ShindeShilpaS) April 5, 2018
SONA MAHAPATRA
So, what new inane defence will Madhu Kishwar sprout now? Nafisa Ali? RJ Rishi Kannan? Will daddy say sorry on his behalf? What will the suck ups in the industry do? When’s bail? When’s the next block buster release? Dabangg’concert’ tour dates? Big Boss? Charity drives? 🤔— SONA (@sonamohapatra) April 5, 2018

RAJ KUNDRA
Such outdated archaic laws in India that really need to be changed! Parts of our legal system needs a revisit! Any1 can file a case on anyone! One court says not guilty other says guilty! People thrown from court to court! @BeingSalmanKhan doesn’t deserve this at all! Ridiculous— Raj Kundra (@TheRajKundra) April 5, 2018
