Govinda has become one of those actors who many of us kids from the 90’s and the millennial from the present generation, have come to respect and appreciate a lot more, in retrospect.
Not saying he didn’t get any of that at his time in peak. Govinda has always been showered with love and adoration from his fans, but his comic genius has been appreciated even more by a generation of movie-lovers who have missed his trademark-comedies while watching his old classics in repeat.
The former “Hero No. 1”, who’s reduced the amount of his mainstream work to concentrate on other aspects of his life, is back to tingle your funny bone with a “Bollywood-ish” double-role yet again, and it is intriguing to say the least.
The actor, who was last seen in the 2017-released action flick, ‘Aa Gaya Hero’ – which failed to leave a mark at the box office, will now be seen in another comic relief, entitled, ‘Rangeela Raja’ – in which he will be seen playing dual roles inspired by the likes of – Yoga Guru-turned businessman, Baba Raamdev and fugitive business-tycoon, Vijay Mallya.
The movie is being produced by former Censor Board Chief Pahlaj Nihalani, who gave a little overview on the entertainer, while speaking to MIDDAY:

“It’s the story of two brothers – both essayed by Govinda – who are completely different from each other. One character is inspired by Vijay Mallya; so, you see him as a rich, flamboyant business tycoon. The other brother is a spiritual guru, along the lines of Baba Ramdev.”
We might have said that the viewers’ choices are quite different these days, and the concept of ‘Bollywood judwas’ may be a challenge to pull off – but going by the recent success of Varun Dhawan’s “Judwa” remake – Govinda may very well get that big comeback he’s been longing for!
What do you think?
