Despite all the controversies surrounding it’s release, The Kerala Story continues to attract mass circuits.
The Vipul Shah produced and Sudipto Sen directed venture has gone on to pack a respectable total, winding-up it’s first week of theatrical release.
Made on a budget of 15 crores the film has managed to collect 81.36 crores in it’s first seven days.
As reported by trade-analyst Taran Adarsh, the film is already a ‘blockbuster’ with it’s unexpected high numbers in the first week. And the good news for the makers is – the film continues to go strong, as it shows an upward trend even on workdays.

Even as the film has been banned in states like Tamil Nadu and West Bengal, it is packing houses elsewhere – and eyes an even bigger second weekend collection than the first one.
Will it go the high road set by The Kashmir Files last year?
We’ll see…
