90’s Throwback: Kumar Sanu’s Melodious Performance Of His Iconic 90’s Hit Song ‘Do Dil Mil Rahe Hai’

Kumar Sanu was definitely one of the best voices in the world of playback singing in Bollywood.

The crooner with his ability to infuse romance into songs with his melodious voice, was one of the go-to signers for all love ballads back in the day, and gave the generation some of their biggest hits to remember.

Born in Kolkata to vocalist and composer Pashupati Bhattacharya, the singer started his career as early as 1984 and gained fame in the scene by the late 80’s.

Today we look back at one of his most iconic recordings from the 1997 Subhash Ghai film Pardes. The song was called ‘Do Dil Mil Rahe Hai’, and it was filmed on none other than Shah Rukh Khan and the then newcomer Mahima Chaudhary.

Around the same time, as the song became a huge hit, Kumar was seen performing it live at many occasions and concerts – which showcased how he could carry a tune live with just as much finesse as he did in the studio.

Here is one such rare performance from back in the day, which sees him performing the iconic love song.

Truly, 90’s music scene is unimaginable without the voice of Mr Sanu, alongside Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik.
