RRR Makes History As ‘Naatu Naatu’ Wins Best Original Song Award At 2023 Golden Globes

Naatu Naatu has become the first Indian song to get ‘Golden Globes’ glory.

The smash hit from internationally acclaimed film RRR has won the ‘Best Original Song’ in the recently held Golden Globe awards.



RRR was nominated for a total of 2 awards in the ceremony, namely – ‘Best Foreign Language Film’ and ‘Best Original Song’ – and it ended up winning one out of the two.

The SS Rajamouli venture lost the ‘Best Foreign Language Film’ to Argentina’s – ‘Argentina, 1985’ but won the award for it’s infectious dance anthem.

Naatu Naatu has bested the following songs from some big western Pop stars with it’s win:

“Carolina” from “Where the Crawdads Sing” music by Taylor Swift
“Ciao Papa” from “Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio” music by Alexandre Desplat
“Hold My Hand” from “Top Gun: Maverick” music by Lady Gaga, BloodPop, Benjamin Rice
“Lift Me Up” from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” music by Tems, Rihanna, Ryan Coogler, Ludwig Göransson



The award was received by Naatu Naatu music composer MM Keeravani, however the songwriter – Chandrabose and singers – Kaala Bhairava & Rahul Sipligunj were also credited with the same.
