Kangana Ranaut Completes Shooting For Emergency: Shows Her Behind-The-Scenes Look As Indira Gandhi

Kangana Ranaut’s next big venture is her home-production – ‘Emergency’, and for the past one year she has been completely invested into the same.

The actress recently shared that she has completed the shoot of the film – which is based on the early 70’s Emergency period in India and sees Ranaut essaying the role of India’s former prime minister, the late – Indira Gandhi.



Just a couple of months ago, the first look and teaser of the highly anticipated venture had gone viral and had earned massive praise for the actress for her detailed character study and portrayal, in which the uncanny resemblance between her and Mrs. Gandhi took movie-lovers by surprise.

Now, the actress has shared some more behind the scenes footage from the shooting of the film, which sees her all decked-up in the avatar – as she also sits on the director’s chair, filming the ambitious project.

For the unversed, Kangana is also directing this film, which is being produced under her own banner – Manikarnika Films.

Calling it a “tremendously glorious phase” of her life, the National Award winning actress stated how she encountered multiple up’s and down’s during the demanding shoot of the film, which involved – her being diagnosed with dengue and still continuing the shoot and even mortgaging all her properties.

“It’s a rebirth for me and I feel alive like never before…Thanks to my tremendously talented team for making it happen for me” – she wrote.

Knowing Kangana Ranaut’s ability to always take viewers by surprise with her organic acting abilities, it would be interesting to see how she manages to bring this challenging role to life.



An official release date for ‘Emergency’ hasn’t bee announced yet, but it is expected that the film should be out before the end of 2023.
