Alka Yagnik is a singer who has given us endless number of songs to cherish. The melodious playback singer once ruled the Hindi music industry with her beautiful voice.
Alka was most active and in the peak of her career during the 80s and the 90s era, when she gave several superhit songs one after the another for many blockbuster movies.
The 56 year old singer has now added another feather to her hat by becoming the most streamed artist on YouTube in 2022 with over 15.3 billion YouTube streams, and 42 millions per day on an average, as reported by Guinness World Records.
The record book wrote on their website, “Kolkata-born Yagnik, 56, has been the most popular artist on the platform for the past three years, with 17 billion streams in 2021 and 16.6 billion in 2020.”
“A trio of male Indian singers completed the top five: Udit Narayan (10.8 billion), Arijit Singh (10.7 billion) and Kumar Sanu (9.09 billion).” the website further wrote.
The timeless voice of Indian music, Alka Yagnik was also ahead of popular global artists such South Korean ban BTS, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd.

Alka Yagnik is best known for her timeless tracks like, Zindagi Ban Gaye Ho Tum from the movie Lamhe, Tip Tip Barsa Paani from Mohra, Agar Tum Saath Ho from the 2015 released movie Tamasha and the list is endless.
It is pretty amazing to see that people are still listening and adoring the music of an artist so much even when Alka Yagnik is not much actively working in movies as a female singer.
