‘I am done’, Nawazuddin Siddiqui says he won’t do ‘small roles’ in movies even if he is offered Rs. 25 crores

One of the finest actors of the Indian film industry, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is not having the best of times in terms of delivering hits at the box office.

The talented actor has given us performances of the highest caliber in movies like, Gangs Of Wasseypur, Raman Raghav, Haramkhor, Manto, Manjhi and Miss Lovely. But before peaking at the film industry the actor was seen playing cameo or small roles in various movies.

But the Gangs of Wasseypur fame has no plans of doing such ‘small roles’ anymore in his career. Nawazuddin in a recent Interview with Bombay Times said that he won’t do such roles even if he is offered large sum of money, “In my career in this industry, I have worked in many films where I did small roles. And I am done with that. Ab toh aap mujhe 25 crore bhi denge toh bhi main chhota role nahi karunga (Now even if you offer me 25 crore, I won’t do a small role).”

Nawazuddin further explained why he is opting out of ‘small roles’ in the movie. he said, “I feel that money and fame are just by-products of your work. If you just do your job well, money and fame will run after you. If you chase them, you will never find them, so just keep doing good work. We sometimes chase money and fame all our lives and get nothing. I believe that khudi ko itna enhance kar lo, khud ko aisa bana lo ki money aur fame aapke ghulam ban jaaye aur aap ke peeche bhaage (I believe that you should enhance yourself so much that money and fame run after you as your slaves),”

Nawazuddin is an alumni of National School Of Drama and were seen in playing small roles in a number of popular movies like, Sarfarosh, Shool, Black Friday and Munna Bhai MBBS.

The actor will next be seen in Kangana Ranaut’s highly anticipated home production’s movie Tiku Weds Sheru.
