Oscar For Kantara? The Film Enters The Race For Academy Awards, After RRR Scores Multiple Nominations Abroad

As SS Rajamouli’s RRR continues to win accolades internationally, including an unprecedented level of nominations at international awards for an Indian film, Indian films see a doorway open for them.

As a result, we have another film aiming to compete at the upcoming Academy Awards aka Oscars.

Rishabh Shetty’s critically acclaimed blockbuster Kantara has also been sent for Oscars consideration.

The thrilling drama inspired by local folklore traditions was widely loved and adored by audiences for it’s unforgettable visuals and music, and the makers now believe it also holds Oscar potential.

It is being reported that the producers are thinking of ways to submit the movie for the competition, however no official statement has been released thus far.

It is to be noted that India has already submitted the country’s official entry to the Oscars, which is the Gujrati film Chhelo Show – which has been shortlisted among the final 10.

Would be interesting to see if Kantara finds as much love abroad as it found among Indian audiences.
