Kajol Teases Karan Johar: ‘Make films without star kids’

Karan Johar was once called the ‘flagbearer of nepotism’ in Bollywood, very famously by actress Kangana Ranaut, during an episode of his own show – Koffee With Karan.

The subject of Nepotism has since garnered an unprecedented level of space on the discussion tables of regular Hindi film audiences, which wasn’t the case before.

And filmmaker KJo remains in the center of it all (considering he has launched and worked with many famous names who are kin to already-established famous names of the industry).

Recently Karan appeared alongside his industry friend and actress Kajol for an advertisement of a soup, in which the actress was seen taking a dig at Karan for launching star-kids in his films more often than not.

In the advertisement, Karan offers to make soup from the said brand for Kajol, following which she teases him by asking if he’d be able to ‘make it’ without a star kid.

The director then swiftly replies and reminds Kajol that she too is a – ‘star kid’ (being the daughter of actress Tanuja).

Later in the ad, as they both sit together and eat the soup, Kajol wraps up saying – “now make films like this, without star kids.”

It is safe to say, Karan Johar wears the tag given to him by Kangana, proudly up his sleeve.
