Ashish Vidyarthi talks about his dull phase in bollywood, says ‘Mujhe Achha Kaam Nahi Mil Raha Tha’

Ashish Vidyarthi became the household name in the film industry during the 90s and the early 2000s. The veteran actor has worked in number of blockbuster Bollywood movies as a supporting actor.

But the talented actor sadly has not been pretty active in the mainstream Hindi movies from past few years.

In a conversation with DNA India the actor spoke about the lack of good quality content he was being offered that led to his absence from the movies for a while. He said, “I would admit ki mujhe aacha kaam nahi mil raha tha. I was not happy with the bad, poorly-sketched characters I was being offered. Thus, I took a step back from Bollywood.”

Ashish who has made a comeback to acting with number of appearances in the OTT shows like Sunflower, Criminal Justice : Behind closed doors, Rudra : The Edge of Darkness and many others, talked about the platform and said,

“See, we all are storytellers. Earlier, there used to be films or TV series. Now we have added another medium, through which we are telling the stories we want to tell. We are challenging ourselves to give something new, raw, untouched, unexplored stories or concepts that will leave the audience amazed.”

He further said, “It’s true that OTT has touched new territories, and given ample scope for actors, writers, and directors to experiment. But, in the end, we are still narrating a story on a different medium. There is no need of debating about OTT vs Cinema or TV, they all co-exist,”

The popular actor also runs a successful YouTube vlogging channel. The channel shows him trying out different foods from around the country and it already has crossed 1 million subscribers on YouTube.
