After portraying the role of great Hindu ruler Prithvi Raj Chauhan in the epic biopic ‘Samrat Prithiviraj’, Akshay Kumar to play the role of another great king, Chhatrapti Shivaji Maharaj in the upcoming biopic – Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat.
The movie based on the life of one of India’s greatest rulers is being helmed by Actor-Director Mahesh Manjrekar.
Akshay Kumar shocked his fans by sharing his first look as the great Maratha ruler. The Hera Pheri actor took to his Instagram to share a small clip in which Akshay can be seen walking royally as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
While sharing the first look, Akshay wrote in the caption in Hindi, “Jai Bhawani, Jai Shivaji”
Ajay Devgn also reacted to the first look teaser and sent his best wishes for the actor, “Dear @akshaykumar, looking forward to seeing you essay the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the Marathi film – Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat. He is my favourite Maratha hero and I’m happy yet another film is being made saluting this great warrior.”

The movie will also mark Akshay Kumar’s debut in Marathi cinema and is expected to hit the theatres in next Diwali.
Ajay and Akshay have worked together in movies like Suhaag, Khakee, Insaan and Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi.
