Jaya Bachchan Says She Has No Problem If Granddaughter Navya Naveli Has A ‘Child Without Marriage’

Jaya Bachchan recently made an appearance on her granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda’s YouTube podcast, in which she opened up about a variety of subjects.

Jaya, who’s recently been in news for her public outbursts towards media and paparazzi, opened up about not only on her outlook towards the press but also her opinion on the lifestyle choices of her family members.

In the same conversation, Jaya stated that she would have no problem if Navya was to have a child without marriage.

The statement during the discussion on the importance of physical attraction in a relationship, adding to which the veteran star stated that in her times, ‘they couldn’t experiment.’

Giving a word of advice to the new generation while directly addressing her granddaughter, Jaya stated:

“I’m looking at it very clinically. Since there’s a lack of that emotion, the romance today…I think you should marry your best friend. You should have a good friend, you should discuss and say, ‘Maybe I’d like to have a child with you because I like you, I think you’re nice, so let’s get married because that’s what society’s saying’. I have no problem if you have a child without a marriage also, I really don’t have a problem.”

She further added:

“People will find it objectionable coming from me but physical attraction and compatibility are also very important. Our times we couldn’t experiment but today the generation does and why shouldn’t they?”

Interesting.

On the professional front, aside from her political commitments, Jaya also has a film with Karan Johar to look forward to, which will also star Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi.

But what is your take on Jaya’s suggestion on the subject of child out of wedlock?
