Kangana Ranaut heaps praises on Kantara, says the movie should be sent to Oscars

Another movie from south India has created a buzz around the country, this time it is Rishab Shetty’s Kantara.

The Kannada movie slowly became popular around the country with positive reviews on social media.

Even almost a month after its release the movie is performing fantastically at the box office and has crossed 200 crore mark in the Indian box office window. The word of mouth promotion played a huge role in the movie’s success as it was rated very highly on both IMDB and ‘Book My Show’ by audiences.

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut also showered praises on the movie and even went on to say that it should be sent to the Oscars.

Kangana took to her Instagram handle and said that the movie should be India’s entry for the next Oscars:

“I feel #Kantara should be India’s entry to Oscar next year, I know year is yet to end and there may be better films coming, but more than Oscar India needs the right representation globally… this land of mysteries and Mystics one can’t understand one can only embrace it …. India is like a miracle… if you try and make sense of it you will only get frustrated but if you surrender to the miracle you can also be one …. Kantara is an experiential reality which world must experience .. @rishabshetty77.”

After watching the superhit movie Kangana also shared a video of herself. In the video Kangana said, “I have just come out watching Kantara with my family, and I am still shaking. What an explosive experience. Rishab Shetty, hats off to you. Writing, directing, acting, action brilliant, unbelievable!”

She further said, “What a fine blend of tradition, folklore, indigenous issues. Such beautiful photography, action. This is what is cinema, what films are for. I heard so many people in the theatre say that they had never seen anything like this. Thank you for this film. I don’t think I will recover from this experience for another week.”

Kantara was released on 30th September and after an amazing response, two weeks later the movie was released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.

As for Kangana, she has her much-awaited release ‘Tejas’ lined-up to hit the theaters in the summer of 2023.
