People of Afghanistan take to the streets to celebrate Pakistan’s defeat & Sri Lanka’s win in Asia Cup finale

Sri Lanka on Sunday won their 6th Asia Cup title by defeating Pakistan in the Final. Pakistan were favorites to lift the trophy with a star studded line up and an in form bowling unit, but Sri Lanka’s grit and teamwork stood like a wall in front of Pak and won the final convincingly.

After the final, people of Afghanistan took to the streets to celebrate Sri Lanka’s fantastic win over Pakistan. People in the capital Kabul can be seen dancing with joy with drums and music and lighting firecrackers.

The super 4 match between Afghanistan and Pakistan was full of controversy, both on and Off field. Pakistani batter Asif Ali lost his cool on Afghan pacer Fareed Ahmad when he was celebrating his wicket, Asif became physical with Fareed, pushed him and even tried to hit the fast bowler with the bat.

The match had gone to the last over, in which Pakistan needed 12 off 6 balls and then Pakistani pacer Naseem Shah hit 2 sixes to take his team home in the nail biting encounter.



After the thrilling encounter things got heated in the stadium as well, as huge clash between Pakistani and Afghani fans broke out in the stadium. The fans were seen throwing chairs at each other and the things got really ugly in the stands, the police had detained some people after the incident.

Afghanistan-Pakistan is becoming the new hot rivalry in the cricket field and matches do not disappoint too.
