“Completely broken and vulnerable”: Babil Khan Talks About His Life After Passing Of Father Irrfan Khan

Babil Khan who is the son of Late Irrfan Khan is set to make his on screen debut with Netflix movie Qala.

Irrfan’s untimely passing left the industry in big shock, one of the most versatile and talented actors, Irrfan even impressed the international audiences with his movies like Life of Pi and The Namesake.



Irrfan’s passing took a huge toll on son Babil and wife Sutapa Sikdar, as they often took to social media to share grief with the fans.

During a Press meet organized by Netflix, Babil talked about how he went to give the audition for this movie and how “broken and vulnerable” he was after father’s death.

“One of my close friends had been an assistant to Anvita and even before I read the script, I wanted to do the film. I never had second thoughts about it and jumped to reach the auditions. It was the time Baba had passed away and I was broken and vulnerable,” he said at the event



At the event, director, Anvitaa Dutt also talked about Babil’s audition and the natural acting ability he has –

“It was the first time he was facing the camera and it could have been frightening. Babil was also coming from a sad place and yet kept his energy intact. He is truly a beautiful god’s child and has shined in the film.”

The movie also features, Tripti Dimri, Swastika Mukherjee, Ashish Singhm Avinash Raj Sharma in the lead roles.
