PV Sindhu Wins Her Historic Maiden Singapore Open Title, PM Modi Showers Praises On Her

One of India’s all the great Badminton players and the two times Olympic medalist, PV Sindhu has won her first Singapore open title.

Sindhu Beaten her Chinese opponent in the final by 21-9, 11-21, 21-15, putting up an impressive performance to win the title. with the win Sindhu has become only the third Indian to win the Singapore title after Saina Nehwal and B Sai Praneeth.

This was PV Sindhu’s third title this year previously she won two super-300 titles, taking her tally to 18 career titles in total. Sandhu has two Olympic medals to her name, a silver and a bronze, making her one of India’s most decorated athletes of all time.



After the historic win, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to twitter to congratulate the champion Shuttler from India.

PM Modi wrote, “I congratulate P V Sindhu on winning her first ever Singapore Open title. She has yet again demonstrated her exceptional sporting talent and achieved success. It is a proud moment for the country and will also give inspiration to upcoming players.”

PM Modi shared the congratulatory tweet of sports minister Anurag Thakur to extend his wishes.

The 27 year old shuttler from Hyderabad has already etched her names in the history books by making the country proud on several occasions on the biggest of platforms.
