After much anticipation, the work on Kangana Ranaut’s forthcoming ambitious project ‘Emergency’ has paced up.
And just as the actress gears-up for what can easily be called one of her most challenging roles yet, the makers have released the first look and teaser of the film – which sees the 4-time National Award winner totally step-down in the shoes of the former Prime Minister of the country.
Kangana is also producing and directing the film, which features her focusing on Mrs. Gandhi’s time as a prime minister during the 1971 emergency in India.
Taking to her social media Kangana wrote – “Presenting #EmergencyFirstLook! Portraying one of The Most powerful and controversial women in the history of the world !!”
She further added – “The epic story of Independent India’s darkest hour.”
In the first look and teaser released across social media by her production company ‘Manikarnika Films’, the actress is nearly unrecognizable as she transforms into the late political icon.
Her look has been assisted by Oscar-winning makeup artist David Malinowski, who has previously done his work in notable films like The Batman and Wonder Woman and the result, going by the first look, truly seems remarkable.
