Akshay Kumar Reacts To Trolls Who Call Him ‘Canadian Kumar’ & Working With Younger Actresses

The season 7 of talk show Koffee With Karan has premiered on Disney Plus. As expected, the show is making headlines in the social media for all of it’s titillating gossips and one-liners that make their way into gossip columns.

In one of the recent episodes of the show, actor Akshay Kumar graced the ‘infamous’ and controversy-sprouting couch, appearing in the showing alongside – actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu.



During conversation with host Karan Johar, Akshay reacted on being called ‘Canadian Kumar’ by tolls over the internet, a joke that has been thrown at him for years by his naysayers, wo accuse him of holding Canadian citizenship, while working in India.

Responding to the same, he said, “At the most, they write about Canada. Which I don’t care.” Karan then asked his reaction about trolls calling him ‘Canadian Kumar’ to which he said, “Yeah Canada Kumar. Okay call me that”

 

Karan, known for his controversial questions, then asked him about working with actresses younger than him, the Rakshabhandan actor then gave a wittingly shoved it aside, stating – “They are jealous. Why shouldn’t I? I can work with them. Lagta hun kya 55 ka? (Do I look like 55?)”

Akshay has been a target of trolls ever since he applied for the Canadian citizenship and did not cast his vote at the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.



Akshay will next be seen in his family-comedy drama Rakshabandhan that is set to hit the theatres on August 11th. The actor, in an recent interview, hailed the movie as the best of his career so far.

The movie also features Bhumi Pednekar and has been directed by Anand L. Rai. The duo last came together for ‘Toilet : Ek Prem Katha’, which became a huge blockbuster at the box office for both.
