Watch: Over 200 Musicians And Fans Sing ‘Pyaar Ke Pal’ By KK In Kolkata In His Memory [Video]

A flash mob of sorts was organized in Kolkata to pay homage to the recently deceased Krishnakumar Kunnath AKA KK.

The singer, who died at the age of 53 following his final performance in Kolkata, was remembered earlier this week by over 200 fans and musicians, who gathered outside the Nandan theatre of the city – to sing his iconic song ‘Pal’ or ‘Pyaar ke Pal.’

The song stands tall as one of his most cherished recordings and has a special place in the hearts of several 90’s kids, who grew up to his IndiPop tunes.

The event was organized by Santanu Naskar, Debjit Pal, Rima Chakrabarty and Sumit Majhi, who are all members of B-Garden Buskers and here is what they were quoted telling Hindustan Times:

“As a group of singers, we had initially performed at the Botanical Gardens in Kolkata where we got a good response. Since then a lot of people wanted to join us and pay a tribute to KK. While we were planning for a 100-singers, 100-guitarists mass tribute, unexpectedly more than 300 people turned out at Nandan.”

Music brings people together. Good to know his fans are finding comfort in the melodies he has left behind.

Truly there couldn’t be a more moving tribute to the talented singer, who left us much too soon.

RIP KK
