It was during the shooting of their 2006-releaed film Pyare Mohan, that things turned extremely sour between the leading ladies – Esha Deol and Amrita Rao.
The actresses who featured in the film alongside actors Vivek Oberoi and Fardeen Khan developed a bitter equation with each other and the same eventually ended up taking a physical turn.
It was revealed that during the shooting of the film, Esha had slapped Amrita Rao across the face, after the two had some sort of a disagreement.
Esha later revealed that Amrita had used abusive language with the former, because of which she couldn’t control her anger and smacked her.
She went on to say – “I have no regrets because she totally deserved it”.
Esha further added:
“To protect my self-respect and dignity, in the heat of the moment, I slapped her. I have no regrets because she totally deserved it for her behaviour towards me at that point of time. I just stood up for myself and my dignity.”
Esha later clarified her stance by stating that she comes from a very “cultured family” and it was only when she was instigated, that she had to take the physical route out of retaliation against the words spoken against her.
Esha says that things are now normal between the two, as she has forgiven Amrita.
